Climate Wars

The Fight for Survival as the World Overheats

Gwynne Dyer

Dwindling resources. Massive population shifts. Natural disasters. Any of the expected consequences of climate change could – as Gwynne Dyer argues in this galvanizing book – tip the world towards chaos and conflict. Based on exhaustive research and interviews with international experts, Climate Wars is an essential guide to the future of the planet.

Reviews

"Terrifying is just one of the words to leap off the page."
The Bookseller
“[Dyer] eloquently explores the ‘grim detail’ of how governments will grapple with a challenge unprecedented since before there were governments. You won't find this stuff in any IPCC report… It makes for a good read.” Fred Pearce
New Scientist
“Well written and well argued, crammed with impressive interview material and wonderful personal vignettes.”
Ottawa Citizen
"Frightening yet essential reading."

“The multitude of sources and the political perspective on global warming make the book scarier and more convincing than the usual predictions limited to climate and weather. We can hope that Dyer’s sources are impressive enough to convince policy makers to take serious action.”
Publishers Weekly
"Frightening yet essential reading."
Library Journal
"Climate Wars: The Fight for Survival as the World Overheats has been called 'a truly important and timely book,' but I'd go further. I'll say this may be the most important book you'll read this year." Mickey Z

“Speculative as Dyer’s litte `history of the future’ is, it has an unmistakable – and alarming – ring of truth.”
Scotsman
"Hopefully, his lucidly written book may help raise awareness of the potential crisis."
irish times
"compelling… a warning of what could happen if we don't pull our fingers out."
