From who really betrayed legendary French resistance hero, Jean Moulin, to the network that helped Allied prisoners of war escape to freedom, to the inner workings of MI5, this panel of wartime intelligence experts will discuss their pioneering recent work on the subject and lift the lid on some of the most extraordinary episodes of the secret war. James Holland will chair this panel.


Patrick Marnham is a biographer, reporter and screenwriter. His biographies have covered subjects as diverse as Diego Rivera, Georges Simenon, Jean Moulin and Mary Wesley. He was a BBC script writer, Literary Editor of the Spectator and for 12 years Paris correspondent of the Independent and the Evening Standard. His latest book War in the Shadows was published in 2020.
