One of the country’s brightest new talents Irenosen Okojie invites you to join this conversation with celebrated and award-winning writers Diana Evans (Ordinary People), Yvvette Edwards (The Mother) and debut novelist Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi (Kintu). Four British writers with stories to tell; of their British upbringing as well as their Nigerian, Ugandan and Montserratian heritage.

Our panel will be reading from their latest books, and also discussing the lack of diversity in the publishing industry and their experiences as female writers of colour impacting Britain’s literary landscape.

This event will be introduced by Dr. Helen Cousins, Reader in Postcolonial Literature at Newman University.
