With fans including Donal Ryan and John Banville, acclaimed poets Caoilinn Hughes and Rebecca O’Connor are two engaging new voices in Irish fiction. He Is Mine And I Have No Other, Rebecca O’Connor’s debut set in 1990s small-town Ireland, is a dark and intense novel about the obsessive power of first love and the dangerous claustrophobia of a tight-knit family in a small community. With wit and ferocity, Orchid & the Wasp by Caoilinn Hughes explores the ethical underbelly of contemporary society though the coming-of-age of the singularly unforgettable Gael Foess.
