March 2018 marks the seventh year of conflict in Syria. Rania Abouzeid and Dr Wendy Pearlman will speak about their new books which examine the development of the conflict and humanitarian crises that have engulfed Syria and the Middle East. Wendy and Rania are two leading experts on the region. For anyone interested in the Middle East this is a must see event!

Rania will be discussing her new book: No Turning Back: Life, Loss and Hope in wartime Syria and Wendy her latest: We Crossed a Bridge and it Trembled: Voices from Syria.

The event will be followed by a drinks reception and book launch.

The event is held in conjunction with the Department of Sociology and the Intellectual Forum, Jesus College.
